Corn Maze

We had a great time at the corn maze. I really thought it was going to pour rain and we were going to get a bad storm, but we stayed dry. When we were driving out there I was praying that the rain would hold off. When we were on the wagon heading toward the maze and the sky was almost pitch black in that direction my prayers got a little harder. Our God is an awesome God and does answer prayers!

Last year when I was at that particular corn maze, the corn was higher and the maze was harder. It still took a little thought though for everyone to get out. I was happy that some teams went in to help other teams find the numbered trees and to help them find their way out.

I was happy that we finished our outing with warm donuts and cider. To me, that's the best part of fall......

If you want to see more pictures, Diana Noble took a whole bunch that she's sharing with us at this website. It's really cool, you can download the pictures and everything!

Oh, since she turned me on to that site, I did the same with the bowling pictures. You can check them out here:

If you have any links to any fun sites, or your YouTube videos or anything like that, let me know and I'll put them on here.

Dance With Me...

For those of you who came on our mission trip this summer to Niagara Falls, you'll recognize these words. For those of you who didn't get to join us this summer, these are lyrics to a song we sang each night that I fell in love with. I am trying to get the chords for Hannah so she can accompany us on her guitar and we can sing it during worship sometime...

This is holy time,
We're gathered together to worship You
To love one another
And as we pray,
And as we sing
And as we dance,
And as we dream
Oh Lord, I beg of you, just this one thing

Won't you dance with me?
Throughout the Heavens and below the seas
Up on the mountaintops
Flow with the breeze,
Come, carry me
Lord, won't you dance with me?

Enjoy your dance with Christ!

Bowling!

What a great turnout we had for our second fellowship event. We had 12 kids, which included 3 friends. (Thanks to Brendon, Breana and Marilyn for bringing their cool friends!)

Amazingly I wasn't as bad as I thought I'd be. I must have gotten better from all that Wii bowling I've been doing. At least I was consistent; every second ball I threw either went into the gutter or missed any remaining pins completely.

I was very impressed with what good bowlers the kids were. (Yeah Amanda!)

I was even more impressed at what good cheerers and encouragers they were, even more so for bad balls! (and we had a LOT of bad balls!)

I think we all had a great time and I can't wait for our net fellowship event.

Speaking of our next event.....    On October 26, we'll be heading over to Northville and the Three Cedars Farm to make our way through the corn maze. Check out their website here: Three Cedars Farm

So here's something I got in an email (thanks Breana!) that I thought you might enjoy.

A woman was asked by a co-worker, "What's it like to be a Christian?"

The woman replied, "It's like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top, scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate and greed. Then he carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

Happy Fall!!

Don't forget about our fellowship after church this Sunday. We'll walk over to McDonalds for lunch, then go to the Superbowl for bowling. I hope you can come (you can at least laugh at how bad of a bowler I am!)
